An ad hoc self governing school the gonzago institute formed in 2016. artists and writers: Alex van helvoort, esmé Hogeveen, jesse mitchell, Merle Harley, nick dourado, matthew Samways, stephanie yee, craig leonard and murray gerges learned, created and taught each other. this year long 'schooling' resulted in a publication called survival vs. sustenance and a show called 'flim flam' at the khyber centre for the arts. The program was funded through arts Nova scotia and the Canada council for the arts.
